The Reason.

I have always wanted to start a blog but just never had the time! Isn’t that always the excuse though? Why is it we delay the things that have been laid on our hearts to pursue? I truly believe God has placed us all on this earth for divine purpose. We all have a purpose and a calling. My path primarily includes the dental field – that is my 9-5 weekly, creating beautiful smiles (and sometimes I like to think of it as a superpower, haha). Otherwise, I love to to take pictures and I like to review products and I love pretty little things.

I chose “The Graced Citizen” for two reasons:

  1. I absolutely am obsessed with Jesus and His Grace He has granted me over and over  again.
  2.  grace defined: simple elegance or refinement of movement

So here is to my imagination and lots of posts! Hope you love them.

My weekend with Chronixx and Protoje

Jamaica – home to the greatest music of all time, Reggae.

Last Friday night was nothing short of that and it was 100% SOLD OUT.

The show opened with a new upcoming act, Eesah.

Protoje, performed for a little over an hour. Performing most of his songs from his latest album Ancient Future. He of course included some throwbacks “Rasta Love”, “Stylin” and “Arguments” He closed with “Blood Money” his latest controversial release which addresses some of the socio-economic inequalities that exist in Jamaica.

Chronixx performed for over two hours delivering an AMAZING SHOW. Oh, the love of true reggae music. He opened with a Nyabinghi-themed opening followed by his reggae odyssey – doing what Chronixx does best. He sang crowd favourites engaging the audience along the way with I Can, Spiurlina, Skankin’ Sweet, Spanish  Town Rockin’ Alpha and Omega, Roots and Chalice, Never Give Up, They Don’t Know, Majesty, Black Is Beautiful and ended the night with Likes and Like A Whistle.

Took out my phone so I could share a bit of the concert with you all:

It was a well produced event filled with an audience of all ages, races, overseas guest and Jamaicans of social and economic strata. It is good to know that clean, enjoyable, non violent music still exist.

Continue encouraging the positivity and uplifting the youth. Job well done!

lots of love,

Faith or Fear?

Hey everyone! I missed you all so much!

I know I haven’t written in a while but life caught up with me. I hope you are praying for me as I continue to pray for you.

FEAR = False Evidence Appearing Real.

My question to you this morning … are we going to continue walk by faith or by sight?

“For we walk by faith, not by sight.”

II Corinthians 5:7 NKJV

“Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.”

James 2:17 NKJV

“knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.”

James 1:3 NKJV

FAITH is not hoping God can… but knowing He will. I know this something we all individually struggle with at least one point or some points in our lives. But we must remember WHO we are and WHOSE we are and WALK consistently in His victory.

Faith will move mountains. The enemy wants you to believe otherwise!

Don’t ever forget that!

lots of love,

Psalm 20:7

Joshua 1:9

Closed Doors…

Good Morning 🙂
I love reflecting on how amazing new beginnings are! Every morning when we wake up, God has granted us a new day and a new beginning.

How Jesus can take us from a dark situation and shine the light on a brand new? How many times do we get caught up and mourn the doors that have been closed on purpose!?

Why not focus on the new ones he has already opened and aligned.

Some of my blessings started from a closed door. I now know that every closed door has absolutely prepared me for the right doors to open. There is no need to be afraid of closed chapters and new beginnings. God’s hand is on me.

I trust Him to lead my path. He is ever so faithful. Closed doors come from Him too – He goes ahead and protects us from what we cannot see.

In Romans 8:28 we are reminded:

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

Notice it didn’t say “some things”… it says ALL THINGS! Our God is very INTENTIONAL.

So today instead of being hung up, disappointed, reminiscing on the coulda – shoulda – woulda door…. embrace the new beginning.

Surrender. Celebrate. Rest.

lots of love,

Proverbs 31:30

Is it really love?

Pastor Heather Lindsey said:

“You will be mistreated. You will be wronged. You will be misunderstood. You will be spoken of poorly. You will experience all kinds of injustices. Forgive anyway. Don’t give place in your heart to any form of bitterness. Rather, let God’s love be shed abroad in your heart, and give it away as you have received it—not because it’s deserved, but precisely when it is deserved least—for that is exactly how God pours His love out on us.”

It made me think ……. no matter how many mistakes I make. God still loves me.

How many of us forgive anyway? How many of us are truly “loving”? What are we holding onto that we need to let go of ?

Love knows no limits, even when we think we have been wronged and misunderstood.

Corinthians is one of my favourite books in the Bible simply because the writer Paul highlights a few ways on how we should truly be living as a Christian.
1 Corinthians 13:4-7 defines real love.

Ask yourself these questions:

  • Are you patient with each other?
  • Are you kind to each other?
  • Are you never envious of each other?
  • Do you never boast to or about each other?
  • Is your relationship characterized by humility?
  • Are you never rude to each other?
  • Are you not self-seeking?
  • Are you not easily angered with each other?
  • Do you keep no record of wrongs?
  • Are you truthful with each other?
  • Do you protect each other?
  • Do you trust each other?

Side- noted Tip: Someone shared with me recently if you’re in a relationship/courtship/marriage or even a friendship you should replace the word love with the name of the person.

Are we truly living in love? Remember God IS love.
