C H A P T E R X X V I I I , My Best Year Yet.

Wow, what a year it has been! The birth of our Christ always leads me into reflection. It’s been a great year, today and right here, at the end of it we get to celebrate the greatest gift of all… Jesus. Why wait until December 31st to reflect?

I got Baptized!

I share this photo because on February 26,2017 I made the best choice ever. I made it here, to this chapter – because of Him.

Jeremiah 29:11 says: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

He planned my life. He planned my PURPOSE. He is what I live for. This is a celebration of HIS work. I can’t wait to see what else He has in store for me.

Desperation is the womb of change. Sometimes we have to hit rock bottom and be at our lowest to appreciate the highs and blessings. In the midst of it all it’s important to remember that struggle is always pregnant with GLORY.

I surely experienced His glory this year. 2017 wasn’t an easy one, I lost family, friends, jobs, things, situations – but the struggles, test and trials, pruning proved to be more than worthy. God is so faithful with His promises. The reality is that true joy only comes from Him.

2 Corinthians 4:17
“For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever!”

Romans 8:18
“Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later.”

2018 will be my year of Spiritual Maturity, Faith and Growth. What are you speaking over your life for the new year? Declare it today and CLAIM IT!

Thank you for another year! Thank you for the successes in the past year and the failures that showed me my weakness and drew me closer to you. I love you so much Jesus. Thanks for never giving up on me.

lots of love,

Good Morning!

Did you know that “I AM” is the greatest statement you can use to describe yourself?

Let’s go….. HI! *waves*

I AM Dayna

I AM a Daughter of the King

I AM a daughter

I AM a sister

I AM an aunt

I AM a Dentist

I AM great

I AM intelligent

I AM beautiful

I AM brave

I AM worthy

I AM strong

I AM successful

I AM able

As 2017 is coming to an end I can’t help but ask myself a few questions during my self- reflection:

1. What excuses am I making that’s preventing me from walking into my purpose / calling ?

2. Am I making God the centre of it all?

3. How am I connected to my creator?

4. Am I surrounding myself with the right people?

5. What can and should I be doing to activate my full potential?

One thing I definitely learned this year is that is very important to stay in my lane. You see dear ones, the grass is not always greener on the other side.

I have also learned:

1. That I should not be afraid to ask for help and accept it graciously.

2. It is okay to be super successful

3. It is powerful to be a woman, oh hey Proverbs 31 woman!

4. It is okay to fail and learn from the mistakes I have made good and bad.

With humility and gratitude, we should all aim to be inspired by our own purpose so as to inspire others.

I challenge you to discover your “ I AM”. Your I AM makes you who you are and I would like to think that makes you unique!

So stay in your lane and put death to comparison whilst remembering God is the creator of all and He is always good!

Bless you.

lots of love,

Praying Sisters

Do we know how important it is to have sisters who pray for us?

I recently started a prayer group and it has been the best thing ever. Not only are we growing consistently in Christ, we pray, share experiences and support each other. Cry together, laugh together and do life together!

I can’t help but think of Queen Esther, in her time of trouble the first thing she did was ask for her friends to fast and pray for her before she got before the King.

Furthermore, when we pray for people – we begin to understand them. It’s hard to dislike people who we don’t understand. Don’t you think? They can be weird but you understand why they are weird and it just doesn’t bother you – because you start to pray for them.

Prayer works. It is important for us to ask God for a praying spirit and to pray for others. It will increase your prayer life and overall life more than you could ever imagine.

Ephesians 6:18 – “ praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints”

lots of love,

My weekend with Chronixx and Protoje

Jamaica – home to the greatest music of all time, Reggae.

Last Friday night was nothing short of that and it was 100% SOLD OUT.

The show opened with a new upcoming act, Eesah.

Protoje, performed for a little over an hour. Performing most of his songs from his latest album Ancient Future. He of course included some throwbacks “Rasta Love”, “Stylin” and “Arguments” He closed with “Blood Money” his latest controversial release which addresses some of the socio-economic inequalities that exist in Jamaica.

Chronixx performed for over two hours delivering an AMAZING SHOW. Oh, the love of true reggae music. He opened with a Nyabinghi-themed opening followed by his reggae odyssey – doing what Chronixx does best. He sang crowd favourites engaging the audience along the way with I Can, Spiurlina, Skankin’ Sweet, Spanish  Town Rockin’ Alpha and Omega, Roots and Chalice, Never Give Up, They Don’t Know, Majesty, Black Is Beautiful and ended the night with Likes and Like A Whistle.

Took out my phone so I could share a bit of the concert with you all:

It was a well produced event filled with an audience of all ages, races, overseas guest and Jamaicans of social and economic strata. It is good to know that clean, enjoyable, non violent music still exist.

Continue encouraging the positivity and uplifting the youth. Job well done!
