You Made it!

Hey y’all!

It’s a brand new week. So thankful to be alive and in good health!

Can you believe it is the 4th month of the year already? I feel as if 2019 is literally flying by! This month that I am checking in and resetting my goals, making sure they are still in alignment with the plans God has for me this year. My desires + goals should be His.

But whilst I am doing this, I just wanted to shoot a short post this evening sharing my current thoughts about staying in your lane and not complaining about it.

It is so easy to get distracted by busyness, comparison and get distracted about what’s happening with others on social media that we miss what’s happening in our own lives. We quickly become discontent and complain about what we wish we had or could have done differently. But where does that mindset get us? Ummmmm…. NOWHERE.

How do we expect to move forward if we constantly complain or discount the wonderful works of God in our own lives? What has God done for YOU lately?

We can’t look back, look side to side – left and right and leap forward at the same time. I encourage you to be thankful for your now!( I am currently on a 7 – day no complaining fast with the Pinky Promise sisterhood).

Being content with your now season is so important. Be content with what’s happening presently in front of you. God has you in this season for a reason. Give Him praise and thanksgiving for this now season because it is an unchangeable fact that God is always good. Sometimes He just wants you to WAIT. It’s just not your time yet – maybe to be married, or have children or to be at that new job you’ve been desiring or to write that book etc.. You are probably in a season of preparation and the process. God is protecting and preparing the way for you. He isn’t going to hand you anything BUT THE BEST!

Think about throwing a birthday party, you have to plan and prepare food/ the caterers, the decor and the event location prior to the actual day or your guest will show up wondering if they missed the day of the event. You want the best party ever so you prepare all of these things in advance, privately without the involvement of the guest. The party (your calling/lane) needs seasons of private preparation and it’s own nurturing.

Let me also ask you, Are you being faithful and consistent with obedience in your NOW? Noah started building and was faithful for almost 100 years. He remained faithful even though only 7 people bought into him. Noah developed consistency in his obedience. He saw no “fruit” or “action” until years later, even though people disbelieved him. (I bet no one was laughing when it started raining).

Are you going to wait until it starts raining before you believe the plans God has for you? or are you gonna sit and complain about the things you aren’t seeing right now?

Have you been complaining lately? What have you been complaining about?

Are you being content in your NOW season?

Philippians 4:10-14 says: ” 10 How I praise the Lord that you are concerned about me again. I know you have always been concerned for me, but you didn’t have the chance to help me. 11 Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have.12 I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. 13 For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.14 Even so, you have done well to share with me in my present difficulty.”

I am currently learning to enjoying my portion and staying in my lane. God is faithful.

Aiming to be complaint free.

lots of love,

The Graced Citizen
